Queen Isabella
In 2018, Italian Heritage Foundation commissioned me to create a gown for their Queen Isabella who was selected annually and participated in San Francisco’s Columbus Day Parade (now: Indigenous People’s Day Parade.) Following Paul Carpio’s 1989 rendering of Queen Isabella for the Foundation, I sourced, patterned, fit, embellished and built the gown, hood, and jewelry. Historical in look, this garment is created as a theatrical costume with seam/hem allowance enough to fit a variety of sizes.
